UNITED LINKED TO GRIEZMANN AND BALE

Manchester United have done top business these past seasons but they remain linked with top stars Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann.

Despite the arrivals this summer, more big names could join next season, especially if certain targets are met this term.

Atletico Madrid are set to buy back Chelsea reject Diego Costa. This would free up Griezmann to make the move, especially as Atletico have capable players in attack. The French man was linked to Old Trafford but the deal later broke down as the La Liga side lost their appeal to a transfer ban.

With Bale getting booed at and struggling to match expectations at Real Madrid, there continues to be a link away from the Bernabeu. The Welshman has been linked to United for years. While Bale insists on remaining in Spain, the situation might force him to return back to England. Continue reading

BALE’S AGENT RUBBISHES EXIT RUMOURS

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has rubbished reports that the Welshman could exit Real Madrid anytime soon.

There are speculations that that Bale could return to the Premier League in light of Madrid’ chase of teenage sensation KylianMbappe.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane also fueled this rumours when he claim the ‘BBC’ might split this summer. The Frenchman cannot guarantee that Cristiano Ronaldo, KarimBenzema and Bale would remain together in the forthcoming season.

All these have prompted talks that Bale might exit the La Liga with a likely return to the Premier League. However, Barnett dismisses all this talk.“It’s a ridiculous, stupid story,” he said.

Unlike his the previous season Bale’s contribution to Los Blancos was limited last term. He lost his starting role in the setup to Isco, who took the opportunity with both hands to develop his skillset. Continue reading

ALLEN: WE CAN COPE WITHOUT BALE

Welsh star Joe Allen has said that the national team can cope without star forward Gareth Bale as they play a crucial World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Sunday.

The Real Madrid star would miss the game as he is on suspension.

Serbia demolished Wales 6-1 in 2012 with Allen describing that night as his “worst night in a Welsh shirt.” He adds that he believes the memories of that day would help the team mentally as they face the Serbs.

Wales are four points behind them in Group D. Republic of Ireland are ahead of them as well so a victory is needed for their World Cup hopes to remain intact. After their strong display at Euro 2016 the team slumped into poor form which they are trying hard to make up for. Bale’s second yellow card in March against Rep of Ireland means they would not have their playmaker. Continue reading

BALE SUPPORTS THE SPORT REMEMBERS CAMPAIGN

Wales football superstar Gareth Bale supports the Royal British Legion’s sport Remembers campaign in a bid to commemorate sportsmen who serve the country.

The Real Madrid forward joined Wales national team boss Chris Coleman and Wales senior team captain Ashley Williams on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The trio were pictured holding a picture of Leigh Roose – a former Wales shot stopper.

Roose was instrumental in the change of football laws before he lost his life whilst in active service in World War One. Roose had a lot of influence and he joined the 9th Royal Fusiliers in the summer of 1916 aged 38. He was serving at the Battle of Somme where he died on October 7, 1916.

The late goalkeeper, of Wrexham nativity, is one of the first celebrity footballers. He had a habit of bouncing the ball with his hands up as far as the halfway line. It used to infuriate the Football Association. The laws were changed because of him in 1912, making it legitimate for goalkeepers. Continue reading
